Steamy Sweet Potato Recipe

Sweet Potato Recipe

Sweet potatoes are so versatile, and super healthy, so we eat them at our house often. I got a little spicy when fumbling my way into this spicy, steamed, sweet potato recipe, but was thankful because it inspired my Fake Ranch Dressing, which turned out amazing!

Steamed Spicy Sweet Potato Recipe

If you do not like spicy food, use jalapeno peppers but remove all of the seeds. Serrano peppers are spicier than jalapenos.

These sweet potatoes go very well with the Fake Ranch Dressing, which cools the spice significantly, so do not worry if you go a little spicier than you like. My first batch was like fire, and inspired the Fake Ranch Dressing - one of my favorite new recipes.

  • 2 Lare Sweet Potatoes, Peeled
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Rosemary (Ground or Finely Chopped)
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (Medium/Large)
  • 2 Serrano or Jalapeno Peppers
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of 1 small lemon
  • Juice of 1 small lime

  1. Dice sweet potatoes, mince garlic, and thinly slice peppers. Toss with rosemary and salt (to taste).
  2. Steam until fork tender.
  3. Toss with half of lemon and lime juice.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding additional lemon and lime juice to taste as well.
