Just as a carpenter needs specific equipment, healthy cooking is better with the right tools. I would equate the feeling I get when looking at, using, washing, and putting away my favorite kitchen tools to someone who really loves cars. I store my favorite utensils in different sections of the drawer according to how deeply I inhale when I think about it. Really special, extra useful, and pretty gadgets have their own container.
Crazy. I know. But who better to talk to about the best products to use in the kitchen?
We use many of these products, and highly recommend each and every one. These are my absolute favorites – the best of the best. This page will be updated and added onto as I come across sources for my favorite gadgets.
I hope you enjoy!

My Next Blender

Having owned, managed and worked at a coffee shop for a couple of years, I’ve made a lot of smoothies with a pretty good blender. After we closed our shop, we kept a blender, but I still covet my mother-in-law’s 20 year old VitaMix. I cannot wait until we get this one!
Excalibur 9 Tray Dehydrator
We bought our 9-Tray Excalibur dehydrator in 2005, and it continues to be one of my favorite kitchen tool. It is sturdy, reliable, and easy to use. Our first dehydrator was much less expensive, and didn’t survive my kitchen two years. Although I don’t dehydrate fruit much, when I do I am so thankful for my Excalibur.

Also available as a 5-Tray for a lower profile. I like 9 trays because when I finally dehydrate, I want to get a lot done because it takes a while to process. However, if you want to keep your dehydrator on your counter, the 5-tray may work better because it is shorter.
The Paraflexx sheets are handy for making pure, organic fruit leather.
Toss the Plastic Straws!

When working towards plastic-free living, and being huge smoothie drinkers, we have been a bit perplexed as to how to approach the straws. Who’d have thought — Glass Straws!
Personal Blender

Grab and go is a must for busy people trying to eat healthier. Not many appliances make creating nutrition packed, protein powered smoothies – or quick soups – so quick, easy, accessible and portable. With a personal blender, there are not many excuses left to eat fast food for breakfast or lunch!
Make Veggie Spaghetti!

I have been drooling over this spiral slicer ever since reading a recipe for squash spaghetti. Make “noodles” this cool Spiral Vegetable Slicer – I know I will be!
Save Money: Make Nut Milk at Home!

This is a “must have” when making almond milk, cashew milk and other nut milks. I have used the same bag for years – it is durable, easy to wash, and an absolutely cherished kitchen staple.
Champion Juicer

Champion really is the Cadillac of juicers. It is a workhorse. While we are in love with our larger, heavy duty juicer, and wouldn’t trade it for anything, we are looking at a more portable,Breville Juicer to take with us when we travel.
